The Nissan VK56 is a fantastic engine, but in standard spec it really is just another passenger engine... Add some bigger cams and a couple of other simple upgrades and it quickly becomes a monster.
These are our Billet CNC machined Camshafts, developed specifically for the Nissan VK56.
They are made of a special iron bar that has very high surface hardness, but is slightly porous to help the metal retain lubrication (critical when you get a bigger lobe with higher spring tension!).
After rough machining, they are induction hardened around the lobes and then finished ground.
We have added two extra M6 bolt holes on the front flange for use with our Vernier Adjustable Cam Gears.
There are multiple cam profile options, all of which we designed for the VK56. All of our Camshaft profiles are developed specifically for the engine they are going in, and we wont sell them unless we have or would use them our selves in our own engines.
Listed in the drop down is our most common profile, "fast street/competition". That is the same profile that we use in the majority of our NA builds for around 550-650hp. (see the Skid Factories Hulkasuka build for an example)
If you are doing something unique, like a high compression NA engine, or a boosted engine, we have specifically designed profiles for all setups, just select "Custom", and we will get in touch with you before grinding the Camshafts to make sure we are getting you exactly what you need... Nothing worse than a generic "catalogue" Camshaft that's not quite perfect. It will normally only require a couple of emails back and forward or one phone call for us to get what you need, there is no extra cost to grind the perfect Camshaft.
*You will not be able to use the variable cam timing with these Camshafts, there simply isn't enough clearance inside the cylinder head once you add bigger cams. (there is one oil gallery that needs to be blocked, we will send you pictures and instructions)
*OEM Cam Position Sensor will not work in OEM form... If you wish to use sequential ignition you can still use the OEM sensor, we have left the flange on the rear of the Camshafts still so you can notch it wherever you like for switching. Alternatively, we often add our Cam Sensor to the front cover (or we just use the Crank Angle Sensor alone and run wasted spark... its good for 700+HP without a Cam Sensor)
*All our Camshafts require being dialed in by measuring and adjusting the Cam Timing.
*The standard valve pockets in the OEM pistons will not have enough clearance for performance Camshafts (See our OEM piston options with pockets already machined).
*Sold as a set of 4... if you have an "accident" and need a single cam, just send us an email and we will be happy to help.
